A Letter from Our Founders

I am Andrea Moreno, and together with my best friend Katarina Wabrek, we founded Dos Rosas. Katarina and I crossed paths during our time at Norwich University, the oldest private military college in the U.S. Although our journey at Norwich was fulfilling, we noticed the limited representation of Latin women in our graduating class. This realization motivated us to establish Dos Rosas. Our venture was born out of a desire to address the absence of diversity in social and professional settings, stemming from our individual struggles with cultural norms and gender expectations.
As our communities continue to undergo demographic changes, Latinas are now the fastest-growing demographic in the United States. Despite this growth, we still encounter challenges related to representation, limited resources, and a lack of vision within our communities. At Dos Rosas, we are deeply committed to providing Latinas with the opportunity to pursue their passions through professional leadership development. We advocate for integrating Latinas within all aspects of the classroom, community, and corporate structure while embracing our cultural heritage. We aim to offer guidance and role models to help individuals navigate through the difficulties within the workforce.
In line with our efforts, we launched our grant program, the Dos Rosas Advancement Award, for Latinas seeking to expand their business ventures during the start-up and/or the research and development phases. We also offer scholarships to Latinas who drive change and actively make a difference within the Latin community. The biannual awards demonstrate our steadfast belief in and dedication to Latina aspirations. Dos Rosas remains a strong supporter of Latina potential, wholeheartedly investing in their personal and professional growth.
